Beary and Swartenbroek Family Papers
Bonvillain-Smith House Collection
This collection dates from 1908 to 1964 and spans 5 linear feet. It consists of books, photographs, correspondence, clippings, ephemera, and artifacts pertaining to the Bonvillain, Smith, and Burguieres families of Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. The Smith materials pertain chiefly to Clifford Smith's business dealings, while the Bonvillain materials are primarily family papers.
Historic Terrebonne Parish Collection
The collection dates from 1816 to 2002 and spans three linear feet. It includes maps, copies of diaries, ephemera, printed materials, photographs, artifacts, and audiovisual material relating to the history and culture of Terrebonne Parish. The collection is divided into seven series: People, families, and personal Items; Historic sites; Schools; Events; Religious organizations; Businesses; and Terrebonne Parish general papers.
South Louisiana Oral History Collection
This is an artificial collection created by Ellender Memorial Library from oral histories donated over a period of decades. It comprises oral histories (on audiotape and videotape) and related materials collected from residents of South Louisiana between approximately 1972 and 1998. Interviewees discuss topics relating to local history and culture, including foodways, traditional crafts, race, religion, illness and medicine, education, labor, and industry.
